This activity is a HIT with students! Send them to the website and have them serve aliens at a juicebar. The trick is that the "juice" bar is stocked with household solutions like lemon juice and liquid soap. When an alien orders an acid, the student must determine which household solution to serve them. Give them the wrong drink and the alien suffers- it's an experience that students will not soon forget!

This activity includes 3 parts. In the first part, students use cabbage juice to test each household solution and identify it as an acid, base, or neutral liquid. In the second part, students serve the aliens. In the third part, students must mix various liquids to achieve a specific pH.

This product comes in WORD format, so it's easily edited. It includes the web address for the activity, a student handout, and an answer key. BONUS - The website has SOUND, so students can hear the cabbage being blended into juice, the liquids being poured, and the alien's response to their drink. It's a very engaging activity!
